Run to the Sun
It will be here before we know it, the Relics & Rods 47th Annual Run to the Sun, during which hundreds of classic, restored, and hot rod cars and trucks make the trip here from across the country for this five-day event.
This is a dream weekend for vehicle enthusiasts. The newest class 1978 and Newer American Factory Muscle cars will bring a new level of excitement to the annual Show & Shine.
The popular afternoon on Main Street will be Thursday, October 16th, from 5-8pm. The public is invited to stroll McCulloch Boulevard in downtown Lake Havasu City and admire the classic vehicles. This popular event is free to spectators.
The Show & Shine will be October 17th - 18th from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. each day held on the Bridgewater Links Golf Course at London Bridge Resort.
Admission is $15 for a two-day pass. Special close-up parking is available behind the London Bridge Resort Convention Center for $3. The London Bridge Model Boat Club will be back at the pond with the radio controlled boats. Be sure and see these enthusiasts demonstrate their boats on Saturday at 11 a.m. There are plenty of vendors for both the guys and gals to shop at, plus food and beer booths.

Born out of a passion for classic vehicles, the Run to the Sun car show has grown from modest beginnings to become a premier event that draws enthusiasts and collectors from across the nation.
The genesis of the Run to the Sun can be traced back to the year 1978, when a group of dedicated club members united by their shared love for cars envisioned something remarkable.
The first sparks of this gathering ignited in the form of the “Camp-O-Rama” car show, a small-scale event that debuted in the spring in the parking lot of the London Bridge Shopping Center. This inaugural showcase saw 28 vehicles proudly displayed, marking the humble inception of what would eventually transform into a celebrated tradition.
As the years rolled by, the Camp-O-Rama evolved, gradually shifting its schedule to October. Alongside this transition came a name change that would define its identity going forward – the “Run to the Sun.”
The moniker resonated with the spirit of the event, evoking visions of classic cars cruising under the brilliant Arizona sun. The event’s popularity soared, drawing in an impressive convoy of as many as 1,000 vehicles, each representing a unique piece of automotive heritage.
This year marks yet another milestone in the storied history of the Run to the Sun car show. The event features vehicles from 1977 & older but has expanded its horizon, welcoming Factory Muscle Cars from 1978 to the current year.
With anticipation running high, over 800 entries are expected to grace the showcase, ensuring a vibrant tapestry of automotive evolution. This achievement owes its credit not only to the undying passion of the club members but also to the dedicated Run committee, whose passion fuels the perpetual growth of the show.
